About Us

Dr. Gürdal Ertek is an Associate Professor of Management at Abu Dhabi University (ADU) (he was with RIT Dubai at the time of publishing of the paper). He received his B.Sc. from Industrial Engineering Department of Boğaziçi University, Istanbul, Turkey, in 1994, and his Ph.D. from School of Industrial and Systems Engineering at Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, in 2001. His research areas include data mining and information visualization, as well as operations management. Dr. Ertek has been awarded with multiple scholarships and awards. He has served as a reviewer for 50+ industry R&D projects submitted to TÜBİTAK (Turkish National Science Foundation).

Dr. Gül Tokdemir is a faculty member at Çankaya University, Ankara, Turkey. She received her B.Sc. from Aerospace Engineering Department of Middle East Technical University, Ankara, Turkey, and her M.Sc. from Aerospace Engineering Department of Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA, USA. In 1998, during her M.Sc., she has received AHS Design award, one of the most prestigious awards on aeronautics vehicle design. Dr. Tokdemir completed her Ph.D. at the Informatics Institute at Middle East Technical University. She has co-authored three books on computer programming, and her book on C programming has won the Turkish Science Academy (TUBA) Text Book Award in 2011. Her research interests include information systems, health informatics, software engineering.

Mete Sevinç is a data scientist in Cognizant, Netherlands (he was with Eindhoven Technical University at the time of publishing of the paper). He received a B.Sc. in Manufacturing Systems Engineering (2012) and a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering (2014) at Sabanci University, Istanbul. He completed his M.Sc. thesis about an analysis on Innovation Taxonomy and Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). He has research and work experience in Turkey, Sweden, Singapore, and Netherlands. His research interests include Risk Assessment, Bayesian Network Modeling, Supply Chain Management, Data mining, Statistics and Information Visualization.

Murat Mustafa Tunç is a Ph.D. student in Management Science with a concentration of Information Systems, at the University of Texas at Dallas. He received his B.Sc. in Manufacturing Systems Engineering and his M.S. in Industrial Engineering at Sabancı University in 2013, and 2015, respectively. He was a visiting researcher at Eindhoven University of Technology, Netherlands during summer 2011, and at Singapore Institute of Manufacturing Technology (SIMTECH) during summer 2012. His research interests span data mining, information technologies and social networks.
